1. A method in a fixed point-to-point radio link transceiver, the method comprising the steps of
receiving a first signal from a far end transceiver,
measuring a power associated with the received first signal from the far end receiver,
detecting receiver overload due to excess power in the received first signal, the overload detected based on the measured power associated with the received first signal from the far end receiver exceeding a pre-configured first signal power threshold,
transmitting a second signal to the far end transceiver, the step of transmitting comprising including, in the second signal, a request to reduce transmission power in the far end transceiver when receiver overload is detected.
