1. Equipment for a wireless telecommunications system, comprising:
a base apparatus structured to perform modulation/demodulation, coding/decoding, and to provide a first information signal and control signals;
an electrical conductor based transmission line connected to said base apparatus; and
a bidirectional conversion apparatus to receive from the electrical conductor based transmission line and to transmit on the electrical conductor based transmission line the first information signal and the control signals; the bidirectional conversion apparatus being external and remotely located with respect to the base apparatus and including:
a tunable processing module structured to perform frequency translation and power shaping of the first information signal to obtain a second information signal and vice-versa; the second information signal being to be transmitted and received by an antenna device connectable to the bidirectional conversion apparatus, the second information signal having a frequency allocation higher than a first frequency allocation of the first information signal, and a bandwidth equal to a first bandwidth of to the first information signal; and
a control unit to receive the control signals from said remote base apparatus on said electrical conductor based transmission line and send to the tunable processing module corresponding configuration signals setting operating behaviour of the tunable processing module.
