1. An apparatus, comprising:
a housing;
a memory unit having computer executable instructions stored thereon;
a wireless communication interface;
and
a processor configured to execute the computer executable instructions stored in the memory unit, wherein execution of the
computer executable instructions causes the processor to:
cause a search for an external sensor while one or more user interface (UI) capabilities of the apparatus are disabled, the
one or more UI capabilities being associated with the external sensor, wherein the search for the external sensor includes
wireless transmission of a signal adapted to detect the external sensor, and
in response to detection of the external sensor, enable one or more disabled UI capabilities associated with the external
sensor and cause display of an analyte concentration associated with a measurement made by the external sensor.
