1. A composition comprising a ligand for use in an azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction and CuSO4, wherein the ligand is in complex with CuSO4 in a ratio of ligand:CuSO4 of at least 2:1 and wherein the ligand comprises a tris(triazolylmethyl)amine of formula (I):
