1. A tool for splitting wood, comprising:
a cutting head having opposed top and bottom ends, the bottom end terminating in a first cutting edge; and
a handle having top and bottom sides corresponding to the top and bottom ends, respectively, of the cutting head, a longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to the first cutting edge, and a portion that is joined to the cutting head, extends away from the cutting head and defines two side surfaces that converge to form a second cutting edge on the bottom side of the handle, wherein the two side surfaces taper away from the second cutting edge and from one another to form an arcuate surface transition in the handle.
