1. A method for forming fluted filtration media comprising:
fluting filtration media to provide fluted filtration media having a repeating pattern of flutes wherein the repeating pattern of flutes comprises at least one flute having at least one ridge provided in a flute period between adjacent same side peaks; and
providing a facing sheet of filtration media;
applying an adhesive bead to at least one end of the fluted filtration media such that fluid flowing through the flute is directed through the fluted filtration media; at least a portion of the adhesive bead formed between the fluted filtration media and the facing sheet of the filtration media;
wherein the method comprises feeding the filtration media into a bite formed between a first roll and a second roll to form the fluted filtration media; and
wherein the first roll comprises a plurality of first roll projections and a plurality of first roll recesses, and wherein at least one of the first roll projections comprises at least two media contact areas separated by a media relaxation area.
