1. A CT system, comprising:
a collimator made of an X-ray absorbing material and a processor, wherein the collimator comprises:
an imaging aperture having a first substantially constant width for passage of a first X-ray beam, the first X-ray beam being used for X-ray imaging; and
a tracking aperture having a second substantially constant width for passage of a second X-ray beam, the second X-ray beam being used for X-ray beam tracking, the tracking aperture being an extension of the imaging aperture; and
wherein the processor is configured to configure a width of the tracking aperture to determine a calibration curve associated with a Z-ratio, said Z-ratio representing a ratio of a detector signal in a penumbra area to a detector signal in an umbra area of the tracking aperture.
