A hair care appliance comprising: a body, a heater, a printed circuit board (PCB), and a primary fluid flow path extending from a primary fluid inlet into the appliance to a primary fluid outlet out of the body, wherein the PCB and the heater are in fluid communication with the primary fluid flow path such that primary fluid flow in the primary fluid flow path is permitted to flow around the PCB for cooling the PCB, the PCB is upstream of the heater, and a thermal barrier is provided between the PCB and the heater.
