22. A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data [ corresponding to two or more selected investments, wherein the investment data comprises at least a first investment data value associated with a first investment and a second investment data value associated with a second investment;
a sample space that includes at least the first investment data value and the second investment data value, the sample space being determined based at least in part upon one statistical analysis user request to perform at least one statistical analysis that corresponds to the two or more selected investments;]
a client data base; and
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive a [ the one ] statistical analysis [ user ] request corresponding to a [ the two or more ] selected investment [ investments] ,
based upon [ the one statistical analysis user request, ] investment data [ samples ] pertaining to the [ two or more ] selected investment [ investments drawn from the sample space, and at least one return object corresponding to each of the first and second investment data values, ] perform a resampled statistical analysis [ that preserves a temporal correlation between the two or more selected investments ] to generate a resampled distribution; and
provide a report of the resampled distribution.

The system according to claim 22, wherein the report of the resampled distribution is a [ joint ] distribution plot [ , and wherein the at least one return object corresponds to a time of a return that is stored in a time field, and wherein the first and second investment data values, at the time stored in the time field, are each stored in a corresponding value field.]
24. The system according to claim 22, [ A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data;
a client database;
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive a statistical analysis request corresponding to a selected investment;]
wherein the statistical analysis request includes at least one of an investment identifier, a bias parameter [ that determines a degree of randomness in sample selection in a resampling process] , [ and at least one of an investment identifier, ] a periods parameter and a plot parameter [ ;
based upon investment data pertaining to the selected investment, perform a resampled statistical analysis to generate a resampled distribution; and
provide a report of the resampled distribution] .
25. The [ A ] system according to claim 22, wherein the processor [ for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data corresponding to two or more selected investments, wherein the two or more selected investments comprise at least a first investment data value associated with a first investment and a second investment data value associated with a second investment, each investment selected by a user;
a client database;
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive a statistical analysis request corresponding to two or more selected investments;
based upon investment data including at least one return object pertaining to both of the two or more selected investments, perform a resampled statistical analysis that preserves a temporal correlation between the two or more selected investments to generate a resampled joint distribution;
provide a report of the resampled joint distribution; and wherein the plurality of processors:]
(a) selects a sample space;
(b) generates at least one bootstrap sample from the sample space; and,
(c) for each bootstrap sample, generates a corresponding bootstrap replication.
26. The system according to claim 22, [ A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data;
a client database;
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive a statistical analysis request corresponding to a selected investment;
based upon investment data pertaining to the selected investment, perform a resampled statistical analysis to generate a resampled distribution; provide a report of the resampled distribution; and ] further including an alert rules database, wherein the alert rules database stores at [ least ] one alert rule record pertaining to a condition upon which a client desires to be notified.
[ 32. A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data corresponding to two or more selected investments, wherein the investment data comprises at least a first investment data value associated with a first investment and a second investment data value associated with a second investment;
a sample space that includes at least the first investment data value and the second investment data value, the sample space being determined based at least in part upon one user request to perform at least one statistical analysis that corresponds to the two or more selected investments;
a first data structure for storing a first return object having a first time field and a first value field, wherein the first time field stores a first time corresponding to a time of a return of the first investment, and wherein the first value field stores the investment data value of the first investment at the time stored in the first time field;
a second data structure for storing a second return object having a second time field and a second value field, wherein the second time field stores a second time corresponding to a time of a return of the second investment, and wherein the second value field stores the investment data value of the second investment at the time stored in the second time field;
a client data base; and
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive the statistical analysis request corresponding to the two or more selected investments,
based upon the one statistical analysis request and investment data samples pertaining to the two or more selected investments drawn from the sample space, perform a resampled statistical analysis, wherein the first return object of the first investment and the second return object of the second investment both correspond to a time period to preserve a temporal correlation between the two or more selected investments, to generate a resampled joint distribution; and
provide a report of the resampled joint distribution.]
[ 33. The system of claim 32, wherein the time period to preserve the temporal correlation is selected from the group comprising: a date, a specified time period, and a compressed time frame which facilitates near real time statistical analysis.]
[ 34. A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data corresponding to two or more selected investments, wherein the investment data comprises at least a first investment data value associated with a first investment and a second investment data value associated with a second investment;
a sample space that includes at least the first investment data value and the second investment data value, the sample space being determined based at least in part upon at least one user request to perform at least one statistical analysis that corresponds to the two or more selected investments;
a client data base;
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive the statistical analysis request corresponding to the two or more selected investments;
based upon the at least one statistical analysis request, investment data samples pertaining to the two or more selected investments drawn from the sample space, perform a resampled statistical analysis, wherein the resampled statistical analysis includes selecting two or more samples from the sample space, and wherein the two or more samples selected from the sample space pertain to two or more return objects that pertain to the first and second investment data values and corresponding time values corresponding to the two or more selected investments to maintain a temporal correlation between the two or more selected investments to generate a resampled distribution; and
provide a report of the resampled distribution, wherein the report of the resampled distribution is a joint distribution plot; and wherein the return objects correspond to a time of a return that is stored in a time field, and wherein the first and second investment data values at the time stored in the time field are each stored in a corresponding value field.]
[ 35. The system of claim 34, wherein the time stored in the time field is selected from the group comprising: a date, a specified time period, and a compressed time frame which facilitates near real time statistical analysis.]
[ 36. A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database for storing investment data pertaining to two or more selected investments, wherein the investment data further comprises at least a first investment data value associated with a first investment and a second investment data value associated with a second investment, each investment selected by a user;
a sample space that includes at least the first investment data value and the second investment data value, the sample space being determined based upon a user request to perform a statistical analysis of the two or more select investments;
a front end subsystem for receiving the statistical analysis request corresponding to the two or more selected investments; and
a parallel processor, wherein the parallel processor includes:
at least one processor for performing a resampled statistical analysis based upon the statistical analysis request, and further based upon investment data samples drawn from the sample space, and at least two or more return objects, each having a time field corresponding to a time and corresponding value fields storing values corresponding to each of the first and second investment data values.]
[ 37. The system according to claim 36, wherein the resampled statistical analysis preserves a temporal correlation between the two or more selected investments.]
[ 38. The system according to claim 36, wherein each of the at least one processor performs a resampled statistical analysis of financial investment in parallel using financial data stored in a shared memory area.]
[ 39. A system for providing statistical analysis of investment information over an information network comprising:
a financial data database having a data structure for storing investment data records corresponding to two or more selected investments, wherein
the two or more selected investments further comprise at least a first investment data record associated with a first investment and a second investment data record associated with a second investment;
the first investment data record has a first investment ID field and one or more first investment return objects that store data values of returns associated with the first investment;
the second investment data record has a second investment ID field and one or more second investment return objects that store data values of returns associated with the second investment;
the one or more first investment return objects include a time field that stores a first investment time, and a value field that stores a value of the first investment at that first investment time;
the one or more second investment return objects include a time field that stores a second investment time, and a value field that stores a value of the second investment at that second investment time;
a client data base;
a plurality of processors collectively arranged to perform a parallel processing computation, wherein the plurality of processors is adapted to:
receive a statistical analysis request corresponding to the two or more selected investments;
based upon the statistical analysis request and investment data pertaining to the two or more selected investments, perform a resampled statistical analysis that corresponds the first and second investment times to maintain a temporal correlation in the investment data of the two or more selected investments to generate a resampled distribution; and
provide a report of the resampled distribution.]

The system of claim 39, wherein the resampled statistical analysis further includes selecting a sample space, selecting two or more samples from the sample space, wherein at least one of the samples pertains to both one or more of the first investment return objects and to one or more of the second investment return objects.]
