Comment period reopened through August 26 for OECD guidelines on combatting online sale of counterfeits

The USPTO and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have reopened the comment period on the OECD’s Draft Voluntary Guidelines for Countering Illicit Trade in Counterfeit Goods on Online Marketplaces.

The guidelines were developed to provide OECD member countries, online marketplace operators, and intellectual property rights holders with insights and best practices for local economies to enhance enforcement against counterfeit products sold online.

The new deadline to submit written comments is Tuesday, August 26, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
