USPTO announces update on Southeast Regional Outreach Office
WASHINGTON— The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) today announced that it plans to launch the Southeast Regional Outreach Office at its Alexandria, Virginia headquarters.
In December 2023, the USPTO announced its intention to launch this new Southeast Regional Outreach Office in Atlanta, Georgia in late 2025. However, the USPTO wants to begin serving the southeast region immediately from Alexandria.
The creation of the new Southeast Regional Outreach Office is part of the Unleashing American Innovators Act of 2022 (UAIA), which was signed into law in December 2022.
Launching of the Southeast Regional Outreach Office in Alexandria mirrors the USPTO’s establishment of its Northeast Regional Outreach Office in Alexandria in March 2024.
The USPTO has four other regional outreach offices in Dallas, Denver, Detroit (Elijah J. McCoy Office), and San Jose.
