Are you looking for a better understanding of how the patent system works? Join us virtually or in person on March 1 from 1-5 p.m. ET at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia for the first meeting of our Public Engagement Partnership series. We’ll provide foundational education about the patenting process and our practices and policies, and representatives from the public interest community will share their experiences with the patent system.   

Topics include: 

  • Patent basics 
  • An overview of patent examiner backgrounds, training, and quality review 
  • The patent examination process 
  • Public interest community viewpoints on the patent system
