Fashion, Beauty, and Intellectual Property: Fashion law and social justice inclusion in IP
Join us on the virtual runway on November 30, from 4-5 p.m. ET for a fireside chat on the intersections between fashion law, intellectual property (IP), and social justice. Welcome and opening remarks will be provided by Derrick Brent, Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Kenya Wiley, Georgetown University fashion law professor and business advisor, will put the spotlight on the global impact of fashion in design, hip-hop culture, fashion tech, and sustainability. She’ll also discuss the importance of inclusion in IP to make meaningful innovations in the fashion industry.
This event and the larger series are hosted by the USPTO's Eastern Regional Outreach Office (EROO). To learn more about the event and series, contact EROO at 571-270-7100 or northeast@uspto.gov.
