Expand your invention education toolbox at the USPTO's National Summer Teacher Institute
Are you a K-12 educator looking to integrate invention education and STEM concepts into your classroom? Apply today to the National Summer Teacher Institute (NSTI), a unique professional development experience to learn how to unlock the power of intellectual property (IP) and STEM and give students the skills, mindset, and confidence they need to succeed. Applications for this year’s program, which will be held in person July 16-21 in St. Louis, Missouri, are being accepted until March 31.
During the training, attendees will:

Work with United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) experts, inventors, university faculty and NSTI teacher ambassadors to explore IP, innovation, and STEM concepts

Access state-of-the-art labs to design and build prototypes as part of a week-long invention project

Collaborate and share best practices with educators from around the country

Receive teaching materials, lesson plans, and activities to take back to the classroom
If selected, flight and lodging costs are covered for teachers who live more than 50 miles from the venue in St. Louis. Teachers who reside less than 50 miles from the NSTI venue will receive all the benefits of the program except travel and lodging support.
