Deadline for applications to Patents for Humanity and Trademarks for Humanity awards programs extended to September 15
USPTO awards programs harness the power of innovation and brands to address humanitarian challenges
The deadline for submissions to our Patents for Humanity: Green Energy and the inaugural Trademarks for Humanity: Trademarks and the Environment awards programs has been extended to September 15, 2023.
The Patents for Humanity: Green Energy awards program recognizes those who are responding rapidly to the challenges of climate change by developing green energy sources that use game-changing technologies, including wind, solar, green hydrogen, hydropower, geothermal, and biofuel technologies. Winners will receive a certificate that grants them accelerated U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) processing for one eligible matter.
The inaugural Trademarks for Humanity: Trademarks and the Environment awards program recognizes brand owners who are improving the environment through the products or services they offer, or the business practices they use, in connection with a federally registered trademark. A Federal Register Notice officially extending the deadline will be published next week.
Winners of both competitions will receive their awards at a public awards ceremony sponsored by the USPTO and additional recognition.
To learn more about both awards programs or to submit applications, please visit the Patents for Humanity page or the Trademarks for Humanity page on the USPTO website.
