Patent Trial and Appeal Board

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is seeking public input on Director review, Precedential Opinion Panel (POP) review, and internal circulation and review of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) decisions, which we previously announced on July 22, 2022 in a news brief. The Request for Comments (RFC) is available in the Federal Register. 

We are now accepting comments through October 19, 2022, reflecting a one-month extension for providing comments, which we will announce in an upcoming Federal Register Notice. Submit your comments through the Federal eRulemaking Portal at www.regulations.gov. You can review submitted comments at https://www.regulations.gov/document/PTO-P-2022-0023-0001/comment
