April 22: Green patents in vinification

This Earth Day, April 22, join the USPTO to learn how new wine production techniques can help create a greener future. Register now for this special event.

Hear from experts about various sustainable technologies being implemented in the wine industry. Speakers include:

  • Stephen Yanchuk, USPTO employee and wine educator, who will set the stage by presenting the basics of the carbon cycle and the fundamental patents that are being adapted to provide renewable energy at vineyards.
  • Diana Snowden Seysses of Snowden Vineyards and Domain Dujac, who will share how decisions in the vineyards are dictated by their impact on the ecosystem and community.
  • Payam Pourtaheri from Agrospheres, who will introduce AgriCell technology, which is a proprietary bio-processing product that enables the utilization of biocontrol products as an alternative to synthetic chemicals.
  • A representative from Monarch Tractors, who will discuss the first 100% electric compact tractor of its kind with automated operations, driver optional modes, and data analytics.

The event is part of the USPTO’s Eastern Regional Outreach Office’s “Wine & IP” series.
