Over the past three weeks, PTAB hosted day-long Judicial Conferences at several USPTO locations. More than 25 judges were in attendance at each. Practitioners and judges learned from each other during these interactive programs. The conference will be coming to San Jose, California on Thursday, July 26 and Dallas on Tuesday, July 31, so stakeholders still have time to participate and benefit from this unique opportunity.

In the morning, judges will discuss best practices for written and oral advocacy, and then attendees can hone their skills through workshop exercises facilitated by judges.

In the afternoon, attendees can share their opinions on hot topics, such as patent eligible subject matter and motions to amend, during small group discussions led by judges.

Finally, local IP leaders will interview Chief Judge David Ruschke to gain a better understanding of his views on recent PTAB developments.

The conference is free and open to the public, and advance registration is not needed. Attendees have ample time to ask questions and meet the judges as well. Please see the PTAB Judicial Conference website for more details.
