California MCLE credit offered at two upcoming Silicon Valley USPTO events!
PTAB Bar Association Regional Event - Patent Commissioner and PTAB Vice Chief Judge Speak
Event date: October 16, 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. PT
During this event, attendees will hear from Commissioner for Patents Andrew Hirshfeld on Subject Matter Eligibility, and other USPTO priorities. PTAB Vice Chief Judge Scott Weidenfeller will also discuss recent updates to the Trial Practice Guide and other current developments before the Board.
Three (3) hours of California MCLE credit will be offered for this event. This CLE program is designed for all practitioners, students, and others interested in patent prosecution and PTAB proceedings. The PTAB Bar Association (link is external) will provide lunch.

Diversity and Inclusion v. Implicit Bias in the Workplace
Event date: October 18, 10:30 a.m. - noon PT
Bismarck Myrick, Director of the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity at the USPTO, joins us to discuss implicit bias and how to reduce its impact in the workplace. He will also discuss the laws that prohibit employment discrimination, provide an overview of the American Bar Association (ABA) model rules related to prohibited employment discrimination in the practice of law, and discuss cutting edge diversity and inclusion practices currently in use at the USPTO.
One (1) hour of California MCLE credit in the area of Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society will be offered.
