In the coming weeks we are hosting judicial conferences at the USPTO headquarters
in Alexandria, Virginia and near each of the regional offices. For a full listing of the dates, times, and locations, please visit our 2018 PTAB Annual
Judicial Conferences page on the USPTO website.
The program, which will be the same at each location, is intended to
educate the public about aspects of Board practice and provide a forum
to enhance dialogue between the public and the Board. During the morning
sessions, the PTAB will focus on best practices for written and oral advocacy, with a judge panel discussion followed by practicum exercises for attendees.
During the afternoon sessions we will host small group discussions to
address hot topics such as patent subject matter eligibility and motion to
amend practices. The conference will conclude with an interview with Chief
Judge David Ruschke, led by members of the local IP community, to explore other
recent PTAB developments and potential future changes.
Come meet our judges, hear directly from them, and learn how to
strengthen your PTAB practice. There is no cost to attend and registration is not
required. CLE credit will not be offered. Seating is on a first-come,
first-served basis.
