The PTAB is holding Judicial Conferences in San Jose, California on Thursday, July 26 and in Dallas on Tuesday, July 31. Reflecting the collaborative nature of the program, the theme for the conference is “Sharing Insights: From Bench to Bar and Bar to Bench.” Attendees will interact directly with PTAB judges throughout the day as the two groups share points of view with each other.

In the morning, attorneys will sharpen their written and oral advocacy skills by working in small groups with at least one PTAB judge facilitating each group’s discussion.

Later in the day, attendees will converse with judges on hot topics such as patent eligible subject matter and motions to amend, sharing their opinions on these developing issues.

The day will end with an informal reception, where attendees can mingle with judges and continue the conversation.

The PTAB has recently held this conference in three cities, earning excellent reviews from participants who appreciated the rare opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the bench.

The conference is free and open to the public and advance registration is not needed. CLE has been requested. Please see the PTAB Judicial Conference page for more details
