Applications are now open for the 5th annual National Summer Teacher Institute (NSTI)

Apply to be one of 50 U.S. teachers selected for an opportunity to join us at the University of South Florida on July 29 - Aug. 3, to explore STEM, innovation, and intellectual property (IP). 

 Submit your online application by June 11, 2018. 

USPTO NATIONAL SUMMER TEACHER INSTITUTE:

  • Equips teachers to inspire the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs.
  • Covers practical lesson strategies and student-tested activities based on IP concepts.
  • Highlights USPTO resources on patents, trademarks, and other forms of IP. 
  • Provides access to a dynamic range of guest speakers, including USPTO experts, inventors, entrepreneurs, scientists and engineers from the Science of Innovation project, Maker Education ambassadors, and representatives from other federal government agencies and non-profit organizations.

  • NSTI is designed for K-12 educators.
  • NSTI combines experiential training tools, practices, and project-based learning models.
  • NSTI helps teachers inspire and motivate student achievement in STEM disciplines, by using IP as both a teaching and learning model.
