Migration Tool will be discontinued soon

The Migration Tool will be discontinued soon. Users will no longer be able to link a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) digital certificate to a USPTO.gov account. Please refer to the instructions below.

If your PKI certificate was not migrated

If you are a patent practitioner or independent inventor with an existing PKI certificate who did NOT migrate, the period for migration will end soon. See references below:

If you are a support staff member who needs to be sponsored

If you are support staff (paralegals, legal admins, and others), previously using a Practitioner's PKI certificate, you must now have your own USPTO.gov account and be sponsored by a practitioner. Please request that the registered patent practitioner(s) whom you are supporting access the Sponsorship Tool to sponsor your USPTO.gov account to allow you to work on their behalf. In order to sponsor support staff, a practitioner must first have a USPTO.gov account that has been registered with EFS-Web and Private PAIR (see new account registration).
