For patent practitioners and independent inventors with existing PKI certificate
To enable access to EFS-Web and Private PAIR using your USPTO.gov account, please use the Migration Tool to link your existing PKI certificate with your USPTO.gov account. Please see Migration Guide for step-by-step instructions and Authentication Changes page for more information. If you’ve recently migrated, your request is being processed. Please wait 1-2 business days before attempting to sign in to EFS-Web and Private PAIR with your USPTO.gov account.
For support staff using an attorney's PKI certificate (paralegals, legal Admins, and others)
Authentication to EFS-Web and Private PAIR using a USPTO.gov account for Practitioner Support users is currently unavailable. Support staff using the PKI certificate of a Registered Practitioner should not migrate; please continue to sign in with PKI certificates until the Sponsorship Tool becomes available. The USPTO will post announcements when access for practitioner support accounts is ready.
