At the upcoming USPTO Improvements Focus Session, we’ll discuss conduct three separate focus session to share information and gather feedback on eMod Patent Center, Global Dossier, and Call Centers. The eMod (eCommerce Modernization) project is an effort by the USPTO to improve the electronic patent application process by modernizing its eCommerce systems (EFS-Web and Private PAIR). The purpose of this effort is to improve the user experience, enable more efficient system integration, and expand system usefulness. For more information about eMod, please see our website at http://www.uspto.gov/patent/emod; or the recently-released blog about this topic at http://www.uspto.gov/blog/director/entry/modernization_of_electronic_patent_application.
Global Dossier will provide services for monitoring and managing related cases filed in multiple international offices through a single portal/user interface. The USPTO-hosted User Interface for Global Dossier will be launched in November 2015, providing all stakeholders access to the full file history in a patent application family filed in participating Offices. Please read more about Global Dossier at http://www.uspto.gov/patents-getting-started/international-protection/global-dossier-initiative.
The Call Center focus session will be a structured discussion to go over the different call centers and gather feedback on how to improve these services.
