At the upcoming eMod Patent Center Focus Sessions (1 and 2) on August 13th, we’ll discuss about the modernization effort, ask questions to better understand user needs, share some wireframes/mock-ups, and gather feedback on the designs. The eMod (eCommerce Modernization) project is an effort by the USPTO to improve the electronic patent application process by modernizing its eCommerce systems (EFS-Web and Private PAIR). The purpose of this effort is to improve the user experience, enable more efficient system integration, and expand system usefulness. For more information about eMod, please see our website at http://www.uspto.gov/patent/emod; or the recently-released blog about this topic at http://www.uspto.gov/blog/director/entry/modernization_of_electronic_patent_application.
