Quarterly Public User’s Meeting
March  9, 2016

 

The Public User’s Meeting was held at 1:00 p.m. in the Global IP Academy, Madison East, 2nd floor, at 600 Dulany Street on the USPTO campus in Alexandria, Virginia.  Donna Cooper, Manager of Public Records Division, chaired the meeting.                

Christine Kitchens, Manager of PSSD and Ted Parr, Director of PISG were in attendance. John Owens, CIO was present at the meeting to field any questions the public may have concerning any technological issues.

PSF Status

No updates from Public Search Facility at this time. January and February were quiet. WIFI has been working well for the public users.

PRD Status

Assignment Search new release – April release dates TBD. Trademark version in May/June timeframe. All dates to be determined.

Q&A With John Owens, CIO

How is the PE2E?  PE2E is coming along working toward being standard usage. EDAN is going away as well as EAST/WEST. Patent quality impacts are being researched, right now data is being gathered and trends analyzed.  Looking at creating separate web based systems.
