About NSTI

NSTI workshop participants

The National Summer Teacher Institute is a multi-day professional development training opportunity designed to support elementary, middle, and high school teachers as they incorporate concepts of making, inventing, and intellectual property creation and protection into classroom instruction. Participants are provided with materials so they can implement lessons learned into their classrooms in an effort to support the development of a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation learning ecosystem. The program is open to all K-12 teachers nationwide. Travel and lodging expenses, in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulations and USPTO travel policy, will be covered for teachers who are traveling more than 50 miles to the venue.
