Planned Events

PEDS Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Patent Examination Data Search (PEDS) system beginning at 12 p.m., Friday, February 26 and ending at 3 p.m., Friday, February 26 ET.

During the maintenance period, customers may experience a temporary disruption of service.

Office of Enrollment Discipline Information System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI), Patent Practitioner Search, Registered Practitioner Portal, and Exam Applicant Portal beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, February 26 and ending at 6 p.m., Friday, February 26 ET.

During the maintenance period, OEDCI will be unavailable.

Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

The USPTO's Third-Party Credit Card Processing service, Pay.gov, will be performing maintenance that impacts USPTO credit/debit card fee payment processing beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday,
February 27 and ending at 10 p.m., Saturday, February 27 ET.

The following USPTO storefronts will be unable to accept Credit/Debit card payments during the maintenance period:

  • Electronic Filing System-Web (EFS-Web)
  • Electronic Filing System-Web Contingency (EFS-Web Contingency)
  • Patent Center
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB-E2E)
  • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG/MFS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASI)
  • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
  • Electronic Trademark Assignment Search (ETAS)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Roster of Patent Attorneys/Agents (OEDCI)
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

Customers with an already established USPTO Deposit Account or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Account may still pay using one of these payment methods during this maintenance window.

PTAB Customers:
If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via the Patent Trial and Appeal Board End-to-End (PTAB-E2E) System, you may use an alternative filing method. Please visit the PTAB-E2E FAQ page: https://www.uspto.gov/patents/ptab/ptab-e2e-frequently-asked-questions and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using PTAB-E2E alternative filing methods.

For Trademark Customers:
Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends.  If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.

For TTAB Customers:
If your deadline is today and the document cannot be filed electronically, you must use an alternative method of filing. Please visit the TTAB Outage Page: https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/ttab/filing-ttab-documents-during-outage for information concerning Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) alternative filing methods.

Trademark System Maintenance

The USPTO will perform maintenance on the Trademark TMNG systems beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday, February 27 and ending at 5:30 a.m., Sunday, February 28 ET.

The following systems will be impacted:

  • Trademark Next Generation ID Manual (TMNG-IDM) may incur a brief outage.
  • Trademark Official Gazette (TMOG) may incur a brief outage. You can access recent PDF versions of the gazette on the Trademark Official Gazette webpage. For archived PDF versions of gazettes dating back to 2001, visit the archived editions page.
  • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Reading Room will not be available.
  • Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) will be available, but all documents may not be viewable.
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) initial application forms will not be available.
