Pay.gov, TSDR Payment Error Message and TSDR issue resolved

Pay.gov Maintenance

All USPTO applications that take credit card payments, including EFS-Web, TEAS and TEASi, may not be able to accept credit card payments while Pay.gov deploys an upgrade.

Pay.gov 5.5 will be deployed to the production environment starting at 6 p.m. and ending at midnight Saturday, May 11. Agencies will experience service interruptions during this period.

The release concentrates enhancements to the Billing Service that prepare Pay.gov for future additions to billing functionality. Additional enhancements prepare Pay.gov for ACH processing improvements and enable the possible use of additional payment methods in the future. These enhancements are transparent to agencies.

USPTO apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

TEASi - Subsequent Designation to International Registration Form - Payment Error Message

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our payment system for customers using the Subsequent Designation form. Users of this form may receive an “Internal Failure” error message after submitting payment information. Although the financial portion of the transaction completed, a technical glitch prevented the subsequent designation form from updating with the payment information. The problem is being addressed by staff at the USPTO. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you received this error message, please e-mail Madrid Processing Unit at mpu@uspto.gov immediately and include the following information:

  • your name
  • telephone number
  • date of submission
  • international registration number.
