Patent Community Symposium - Silicon Valley

Empowering innovation through enhanced quality

Register to attend in person in San Jose

Join us in San Jose for an open discussion on enhancing patent quality

Building off the successful launch of the USPTO’s Enhanced Patent Quality Initiative last year, the USPTO’s West Coast Regional Office in Silicon Valley is hosting a Patent Community Symposium and Workshop for the local IP community on April 27, 2016.  The Symposium will share updates about our progress on the many patent quality initiatives underway and we will seek the perspectives of the stakeholder community through hands-on interactive sessions.

The program in our San Jose office will mirror the program taking place on the same day in Alexandria, Virginia and will include live workshops conducted by our local senior USPTO staff.  Through the workshops, you will:

•  Learn how we are improving our processes and work products to foster enhanced patent quality;

•  Gain insight into how the USPTO reviews patent application work products for correctness and, through an examination of a mock patent application, we’ll seek your views on ways we can enhance the quality review process through the use of the new Master Review Form.

•  Contribute to a panel discussion on enhancing your application filings, responses, and examiner interactions during prosecution.

IP prosecutors, litigators, corporate counsel, jurists, academics, economists, business leaders, innovators, IP owners, students and others familiar with the patent prosecution process are all welcome to participate in this interactive program.  The event is free, but we request that you REGISTER HERE.
