Diversity and Inclusion v. Implicit Bias in the Workplace

Bismarck Myrick, Director of the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will join us to define implicit bias and discuss how to spot it and how to reduce its impact in the workplace. Mr. Myrick will also discuss the laws that prohibit employment discrimination, provide an overview of the American Bar Association (ABA) model rules related to prohibited employment discrimination in the practice of law and discuss cutting edge diversity and inclusion practices currently in use at the USPTO.  

One (1) hour of California MCLE credit in the area of Recognition and Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession and Society is offered for this event.
