Classroom to Career
Join industry insiders and local student groups as they take lessons learned in school and use them to solve real-world issues and problems. Industry leaders from STEM fields will be on stage discussing their career paths and opportunities in their respective fields and how skills taught in the classroom are being used in industry.
Protect my Ideas: Understanding Intellectual Property
USPTO staff and volunteers will be discussing and engaging with participants on invention and innovation, and the different methods of protecting their intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
Ask the Experts
Volunteers from pro bono and small business resources will be on hand to answer general information questions on programs and resources available in the Michigan to support local entrepreneurship and innovation. This program will occur throughout the entire day of events in the Music Room.
Tinkering Tots
At the Children's Library join us for a mini-makers space for kids under the age of 10 as they create and tinker.

The Adam Stroh's Hall will be host to the main exhibit area which will include robotics teams from Hamtramck and Novi Schools, the Michigan Science Center, Green Living Detroit, Dremel, Race to the USPTO, and various other hands-on exhibits showcasing STEM.
The Fine Arts Room will showcase the IP Basics presentations and the Career Panel.
The Hype Room will showcase the Detroit Public Library Student Film Festival participants from last year as well as include robotics team demonstrations.
There is no fee to attend, though registration is highly encouraged. All ages are welcome for a day of innovation and exploration. Midwestregion@uspto.gov
