Jason P. Clark is the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Mr. Clark works closely with the Deputy Director to implement the policies, priorities, and programs for the agency. This includes helping to execute the agency’s $3.5 billion annual budget and coordinating the business units overseeing nearly 13,000 employees. Mr. Clark also supports the Deputy Director’s global communications and outreach efforts.
Mr. Clark is a licensed attorney and practiced law for 12 years in San Francisco, California, where he advised small businesses and technology companies. Immediately prior to joining the USPTO, Mr. Clark served as a consultant at Aon Cyber Security & Risk Solutions.
Mr. Clark holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. He also earned a Juris Doctor with a certificate in intellectual property from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
