USPTO Director and Deputy Director Speaking Engagements for the week of October 12

All events to be held in a virtual format.

Tuesday, October 13, (8-10 a.m. ET) Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO, will attend the AIPPI World Congress, at which he will participate in a two-hour moderated, interactive conversation between the IP5 Heads of Office around the topic, “Towards the new normal, and beyond: How IP offices and international IP organizations envisage their future business model.”

Tuesday, October 13, (Noon-1:15 p.m. ET) Director Iancu will deliver remarks at a University of Iowa Innovation Roundtable and answer questions from students.

Wednesday, October 14, (3-4 p.m. ET) Director Iancu will participate in a fireside chat hosted by the National Academy of Inventors, to discuss the National Council for Expanding American Innovation.

Thursday, October 15, (3-4 p.m. ET) Director Iancu will attend a UCLA Intellectual Property Law Association Event, and participate in an hour-long moderated discussion about his career and general patent law.

Thursday, October 15, Director Iancu will meet with representatives from the Australia IP Office to discuss the impact of COVID-19, cooperation on quality topics, WIPO DG priorities, and other topics of mutual interest.

Thursday, October 15, Director Iancu will meet with representatives from the Korean IP Office to discuss mutual topics of interest, such as relief measures provided by the USPTO and KIPO in response to COVID-19 and bilateral cooperation efforts.
