Commerce Under Secretary for Intellectual Property Rogan To Visit Bay Area

Washington - James E. Rogan, the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will talk about emerging issues at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office before the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, including his plans for the agency and its restructuring. Opening remarks and introduction at 8:00 a.m. by Jim Cunneen, President and CEO of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce. Rogan will speak at 8:15 a.m. followed by a question and answer period at 8:30 a.m.

Rogan will give remarks at the announcement of the 30th class of inventors to be inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Rogan will speak about the inventors and their place in history. He will also talk about USPTO's 200 years in promoting innovation, as the agency marks its bicentennial anniversary this year.
