Kathryn Siehndel is the Acting Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Ms. Siehndel manages a team responsible for the development and implementation of the USPTO's strategic communications in coordination with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the White House. In addition, she supports and advises the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO.
Prior to serving as Acting CCO, she served as Senior Counsel for Labor and Information Law in the Office of the General Counsel, Office of General Law, where she has worked since 2012. Before joining the USPTO, Ms. Siehndel did transactional and regulatory work in private practice in Washington, D.C. She earned a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, from the University at Buffalo.
