Frank Murphy has served the federal government for over 30 years in a variety of progressively responsible leadership, managerial, supervisory, and staff financial management and operational positions.
He has served in his current position as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) since November of 2011, and formerly held key financial management positions at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), serving as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Financial Management, and the Interim Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Budget. Prior to joining HUD, he served in various financial management and operational capacities at the Pentagon within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller, and in field offices within the Department of the Navy.
His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University, and a Master of Public Administration from American University. He also is a long-time member and supporter of the Association of Government Accountants, and is a Certified Government Financial Manager.
