USPTO Hour: Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL)

Join us Wednesday, February 4, from noon to 1 p.m. ET for a special edition of the USPTO Hour, hosted by the Office of Public Engagement (OPE). This session will feature information about name, image, likeness (NIL) and branding for athletes, entertainers, and influencers.

We will welcome opening remarks from Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), John A. Squires. Attendees will also hear from special guest, University of Virginia School of Law Professor, John F. Duffy, about the basics of NIL.
