Patent Quality Chat

Topic: How Can the Patents Ombudsman and Pro Se Assistance Programs Work For You?

The USPTO’s Patent Quality Chat webinar series continues in September on “How Can the Patents Ombudsman and Pro Se Assistance Programs Work For You?”  The Patents Ombudsman Program provides assistance to applicants and attorneys throughout the patent application process, and the Pro Se Assistance Program offers similar support specifically for those filing patents without the assistance of a registered patent attorney or agent.

Our speakers will discuss how both programs function at USPTO headquarters and across the country.  We will share statistics of the two programs and highlight some useful tools and resources, such as the first Office action estimator, MyUSPTO, and a patent application checklist.

For further information see our Patents Ombudsman Program webpage and the Pro Se Assistance Program webpage.

We look forward to hearing your feedback about how these two programs can better assist your patent prosecution.  Please send your input and questions to patentquality@uspto.gov before and during the event.
