On Saturday, May 17th, Mindy Bickel, the Innovation and Outreach Coordinator in New York City, held a Saturday Seminar in cooperation with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries at PS11 Purvis J Behan Elementary School in Brooklyn. The event featured speakers and panelists from the USPTO's Office of Innovation Development and Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) as well as local inventors, patent attorneys, law school intellectual property (IP) clinics, and small business support organizations discussing general IP topics and local resources available for inventors.
Congressman Hakeem Jeffries opened the seminar with a speech promoting the "harnessing of diversity" and the importance of local invention and technology. He also congratulated the attendees on taking the first step in becoming inventors and helping society.
