This free, three-day virtual workshop will teach you the basics on how to apply for a utility patent and provide one-on-one expert assistance in preparing and filing your application.

START is for independent inventors, entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to file a patent application without assistance from a USPTO-registered agent or attorney (known as pro se filing).
Capacity is limited. Interest forms will be accepted until Friday, April 17, or until capacity is full. You will be emailed about how to complete final registration only if your request to participate in START is approved.
