Innovator Diversity Pilots Conference

Innovator Diversity Pilots Conference -- November 18, 2022

In the United States, women represent over 50% of the workforce and 27% of STEM workers, but only 13% of inventors. A growing number of companies, law firms, academics, and agencies are actively experimenting with ways to narrow these and other innovator-inventor gaps. Join us for a conference, co-organized with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and Santa Clara University School of Law. We will focus on innovator diversity pilot projects and effective practices to increase participation in innovation.

Conference participants will:

  • Share with peers and learn from others' practices for increasing diversity and inclusion in invention and innovation, and hear evidence of their effectiveness.
  • Hear from leading academics and the USPTO about how to run pilot programs and quantify their impact using best practices as documented in the IPO Diversity Toolkit and High Tech Law Institute’s Best Practices in Diversity Guide.
  • Join a community of leaders exploring novel ways to increase the participation of women and underrepresented groups in innovation and inventing.

Registration is free for remote attendees, and $55 for in-person attendance for members of the corporate sector only. There is no charge to attend for persons from the nonprofit sector (academics, government employees, and non-governmental organizations), whether in-person or online.
