| 1. A method for configuring a programmable logic device (“PLD”), the method comprising:
receiving a first signal in said PLD to perform said configuring, wherein said first signal is received through a gigabit
media access controller;
performing a direct memory access from said PLD to retrieve configuration data from a memory; and
configuring said PLD using a processor on said PLD with said retrieved configuration data.
