6. Discharge lamp, comprising a discharge vessel in which a pair of electrodes is disposed and which is filled with at least 0.15 mg/mm3 of mercury, argon (Ar), and halogen, and wherein the difference c/a2−b/a1 has a value in the range of 0.001 to 15 where b/a1 is the relation between the emission intensity a1 of argon (Ar) at a wavelength of 668 nm and the emission intensity b of OH radicals at a wavelength of 309 nm in the case of a glow discharge of the discharge lamp without hydrogen having been added to the discharge vessel and c/a2 is the relation between the emission intensity a2 of argon (Ar) at a wavelength of 668 nm and the emission intensity c of OH radicals at a wavelength of 309 nm in the case of glow discharge of the discharge lamp after adding hydrogen to the discharge vessel of the discharge lamp.
