| 1. A method of dissolving organic UV filters comprising:
contacting an organic UV filter with at least one compound of the general formula

R, R′ are the same or different and are H, a C1-5-hydrocarbon radical, or a —O—C1-5-oxyhydrocarbon radical,
R1, R2, R3 are the same or different and are H, or a C1-5-hydrocarbon radical,
X, Y are the same or different and are —O—; —O—C(O)—; or —(O)C—O—,
A is Aα which is —O—C(O)—O—; Aβ which is R4—CH2C(CH2—)3, or Aγ which is —C(H)-isopropyl, where R4=R4ε=—[CH2—CH(R1)]e—(Y)d—(CH2)c-Ph(R)a,
a, b are the same or different and are 1 to 5,
c, k are the same or different and are 0 to 5,
d, h are 1,
e, g are the same or different and are 0 or 1,
f is 0 or 1,
m is 1 to 3, and
n is 1.
