1. A system, comprising:
a computing device comprising a processor and a memory;
program instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to at least:
provide a first notification to a first client device, the first notification corresponding to an application installed on the first client device;
obtain activity data associated with the first client device;
provide to the first client device a command to disable a capability of the application to post notifications;
receive an indication of an action performed with respect to a second notification on a second client device, the action corresponding to a change in a state of the second notification on the second client device; and
determine to refrain from propagating the change in the state of the second notification to the first client device based at least in part on the activity data associated with the first client device, a state of the first notification on the first client device, and a type of the second notification.
