1. A label combination comprising:
a carrier material, said carrier material comprising a length dimension that is aligned with an intended direction of travel of said carrier material; and
a plurality of first labels and second labels alternating along said length dimension of said carrier material, said plurality of alternating first labels and second labels forming a plurality of label sets, each said label set comprising one said first label and one said second label, said first labels and said second labels removably adhered atop said carrier material in a non-overlapping arrangement such that gaps that each comprise an exposed section of said carrier material separate each said first label from adjacent said second labels and each said second label from adjacent said first labels, wherein each said label set is configured for dispensing one said first label and then one said second label consecutively from said carrier material onto a receptacle or a label applicator, such that upon dispensing one said first label and one said second label are layered in registration with each other on said receptacle or said label applicator and are coupled together, and
wherein said carrier material further comprises a plurality of transverse stripes, each said transverse stripe comprising a region of said carrier material that has a color that is different from adjacent portions of said carrier material, wherein said plurality of transverse stripes are coincident with alternating said gaps on said carrier material such that there is one said transverse stripe coinciding with each said label set, wherein each said transverse stripe extends beyond a trailing edge of one said first label and extends beyond a leading edge of one said second label.
