| 1. A variable valve actuation control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, comprising:
a variable valve actuation device which varies a phase of the center of an operating angle of an intake valve and lift characteristics
thereof;
a first learning section that learns an error in intake air quantity which depends on said phase;
a second learning section that learns an error in intake air quantity which depends on said lift characteristics;
a selecting section that operates said first learning section in a region in which an opening area of said intake valve is
determined to be larger than a first threshold, and operates said second learning section in a region in which the opening
area of said intake valve is smaller than a second threshold which is less than or equal to said first threshold; and
a control section that controls said variable valve actuation device, based on said learned errors in intake air quantity.
