| 1. A terminal apparatus for an electronic-document viewing system that allows viewing of an electronic document stored on
a server in response to a viewing request from a terminal through a communication network, the terminal apparatus comprising:
means for selecting a resolution level of the electronic document based on, at least, a transmission speed of the communication
network;
means for receiving the electronic document containing data matching the viewing request based on a similarity table generated
by the server, the similarity table being generated for each electronic document stored on the server and containing, for
each pattern and area of the electronic document, at least information regarding resolution level, similarity between the
resolution level and original pattern or area and amount of data of the pattern or area at each resolution level; and
means for giving the viewing request for the electronic document at the selected resolution level.
